FANUC America Corporation (FAC) provides the most complete range of industry-leading robotics, CNC and motion control systems, and ROBODRILL machining centers. Our innovative technologies and proven expertise help manufacturers in the Americas to be more efficient, reliable and profitable. We are currently searching for a dynamic, Mechanical Engineer to be responsible for the mechanical engineering for sold automotive paint and sealer projects. This includes oversight of all mechanical design, drawings, and system part ordering for robotic paint and sealer systems.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the final design of the equipment layout, mechanical system and appropriate application equipment used.
  • Oversight of the robot layout adhering to all safety and customer specifications.
  • Oversight of mechanical assembly designs and custom robot application equipment.
  • Coordinate activities of CAD designer to complete designs / drawings per project schedules.
  • Ensure mechanical engineering adheres to the project schedule.
  • Enter demand for required system parts into Fanuc Americas ordering system.
  • Customer interface for all mechanical items (layouts, designs, utilities, etc.)
  • Interface with other Fanuc disciplines and engineering groups.
  • Interface with external engineering design resources, integrators and suppliers.
  • Lead project design reviews.
  • Coordinate and perform required testing of new design concepts.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Technology degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks.
  • Experience with automotive paint and sealing technology a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation, preferably robot automation systems and mechanical aptitude.
  • Problem Solving ability, identify causes and offer potential solutions.
